Psychotherapy Services

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process designed to support emotional well-being, personal growth, and improved coping. Services are provided by Sifate Zaman, Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO #11988), in accordance with the standards of practice established by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Fees and Payment

The standard fee for psychotherapy services is $150 per 50-minute session.

Sliding-scale rates may be offered on a limited basis and at the therapist's discretion. Approved sliding-scale rates remain fixed for the remainder of the calendar year and will be reviewed at the beginning of each calendar year.

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged. A valid payment method may be maintained on file for administrative purposes.

Cancellation Policy

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments, may be subject to the full session fee. Exceptions may be made in cases of emergency or extenuating circumstances at the therapist's discretion.

Confidentiality

Information shared during therapy is confidential and will not be disclosed without client consent except where required or permitted by law. These circumstances may include concerns regarding serious risk of harm, child protection obligations, court orders, or other legal requirements.

Email, text messaging, and voicemail may be used for administrative purposes such as scheduling appointments; however, these methods are not fully secure and should not be used for emergencies.

Health Records and Documentation

A confidential health record is maintained for all clients in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and professional standards.

Clients may request access to their personal health information. Copies of records requested within six (6) months of service will generally be provided at no charge. Requests for records older than six (6) months may be subject to a $50 administrative fee.

Treatment summaries, reports, letters, disability forms, insurance forms, record reviews, consultations, court-related documentation, and other non-insured professional services are billed at $150 per hour. Fees will be discussed prior to completion of requested documentation.

Multiple Family Members and Conflicts of Interest

In some circumstances, services may be provided to more than one member of the same family where clinically appropriate. Confidentiality is maintained separately for each client.

If a conflict of interest arises, or if the therapeutic interests of one family member become directly connected to, adverse to, or in conflict with those of another client, the therapist may determine that continued treatment of one or more family members is no longer appropriate and may provide referrals to alternative service providers.

Virtual Services

Virtual therapy services are available through secure platforms. While reasonable steps are taken to protect privacy and confidentiality, all electronic communications carry inherent privacy risks.

Emergencies

Psychotherapy services are not crisis or emergency services. If you are experiencing an emergency or require immediate assistance, call 911, attend your nearest emergency department, contact 9-8-8, or access local crisis services.
