Lunch & Learns for Physicians & Healthcare Team

Brief, practical mental health education for medical and allied health clinics in Ottawa

I offer 20–30 minute lunch & learns for physician offices, physiotherapy clinics, and other healthcare teams who want practical, clinically relevant education on common mental health presentations seen in practice. These sessions are designed to be clear, engaging, and directly applicable to patient care and referral decision-making.

As a Registered Psychotherapist, I provide psychoeducation that helps healthcare professionals better recognize when patients may benefit from therapy support, understand common psychological patterns that affect recovery, and feel more confident discussing mental health concerns within their scope.

Lunch can be provided, and I am happy to arrange gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, with mindfulness toward dietary restrictions.

Topics I Can Cover

Lunch & learns can be tailored to your clinic’s patient population and interests. Topics may include:

  • High-functioning burnout
How burnout can present in professionals, caregivers, and high-achieving patients, including signs that are often missed.

  • Trauma recovery
Understanding how trauma can shape emotions, relationships, nervous system responses, and day-to-day functioning.

  • Chronic pain and the mind-body connection
Supporting patients whose pain, stress, trauma history, and emotional burden may be interconnected.

  • When anxiety looks like perfectionism, irritability, or overfunctioning
Recognizing less obvious presentations of anxiety in adults and adolescents.

  • Emotional health in patients coping with injury, medical stress, or life transitions

  • How to identify when a psychotherapy referral may be helpful

  • Supporting adolescents and adults struggling with stress, overwhelm, and nervous system dysregulation
